The money plant is one of the most popular indoor plants in Indian homes. Its heart-shaped green leaves, attractive vines and easy-care nature make it a favourite for living rooms, balconies and workspaces. In traditional Vastu Shastra, the plant is also associated with prosperity, positive energy and steady financial growth.

However, simply bringing a money plant home is not considered enough. Its direction, condition, container and surrounding environment are believed to influence the energy it creates.

Vastu is a traditional belief system rather than a scientifically proven method of increasing wealth. Nevertheless, many of its principles encourage people to keep their homes clean, organised, green and visually balanced. Here are the major money plant Vastu mistakes you may want to avoid.

1. Keeping the Money Plant in the Wrong Direction

One of the most common mistakes is placing the money plant without considering direction. According to popular Vastu beliefs, the south-east corner of the home is considered especially suitable. Many Vastu practitioners advise avoiding the north-east corner. This part of the home is regarded as a spiritually sensitive and water-dominant zone, where a rapidly growing creeper may be considered unsuitable.

A healthy money plant can therefore be placed in the south-east section of the living room, home office or another peaceful indoor area. It should receive sufficient natural light without being exposed to harsh afternoon sunlight. 

2. Allowing the Vines to Grow Downward
